THE STORY OF KÁLMÁNHÁZA

Kálmánháza takes place in south-west Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, in west Nyírség. Its neighbour cities are: Nyíregyháza, Hajdúdorog, Hajdúnánás and Újfehértó. The first farm was established by Pál Beck in 1775. His field could be 2000 acre. There lived about 15-20 families. It belonged to Újfehértó till 1949. It became self-supporting in 1950.
The present name of the village was given likely after Kálmán Tisza.
In the village there is great possibilities for villiger turism. The village became independent congregation in 1947. Before this it belonged to Hajdúdorog.
Its church was built in 1920, and it was anointed to Páduai Saint Andrew. The number of worshippers is 760 (1982).
