The Social Caritative Center in Vinohradiv this year is celebrating a decade of  service to the poor and needy in the town and surrounding region.

 Brief History

     In 1991 Cardinal Laszlo Paskai facilitated the installation of Fransiscan Monks in Transcarpathia. The Social Caritativ Centre opened its doors to the poor families in 1993, under the leadership of Tihamer Papp OFM, and with foreign collaboration and the support of the Roman Catholic Church in Vinohradiv.
     In the beginning our work started with small steps, but all of us were very enthusiastic. Work started in the free food kitchen for the poor, and in the garden with help of the local church community, volunteers and scouts.  Every meal was distributed with love to the people in need. We distributed wood for their fires in cold wintertime, and together withFather Tihamer we unloaded coal at Christmas to warm the poor people's homes. We were tired,dirty, but very happy, that we could help!
    Then the first humanitarian transportation arrived, and we could see the tears of happiness in people's eyes, when they received their first donation.

is the main supporter of the Center and its institutions.
