St. Katherine's Kindergarten
in Fancsikovo

There are 25 children who attend  the kindergarten in Fancsikovo, Vinohradiv district, situated approximately 15 km from the town. These children did not previously have a nursery education. Because of the economical situation many people had (and still have to) work in foreign countries, so children had to stay at home with grandparents. The kindergarten was opened on 14th  September, 2003. and since opening has been a major support system for families in the region. Children who previously were left alone without supervision, are now safe and cared for on a  daily basis and are provided with food (three meals a day) which had previously been a problem for some families. Activities are in the Hungarian language and culture, in a Christian and Catholic environment, but the kindergarten is open to all  children, irrespective of religion and nationality.
