Hungarian Foreign Minister László Kovács met Rumanian President Emil Constantinescu to facilitate the formation of nine committees as a follow-up to the Hungarian Rumanian Bilateral Agreement signed last year. The biggest coalition partner, Christian Democratic National Peasant Party, decided to discipline its fellow, Chairman of the Senate Education Committee, Senator George Pruteanu, for attempting to undermine the Presidential Decree which allows for bilingual signs and controls minority-language use.
